Kraft seines Amtes gehörte er auch dem Schulvorstand an. Geboren wurde er am 31.3. 1836 in Wallendorf. Durch seine Hochzeit am 19.7. 1857 mit der Tochter des Nenderother Landmanns Johann Philipp Georg Theis, Katharina Margaretha, kam er nach Nenderoth. Hier wohnte er im Haus seines Schwiegervaters, heute Kallenbachweg 11, Gerhard Pfaff (Dickewellems-Haus). Nach seiner Wiederwahl im Jahr 1854 blieb er bis zum 15.2. 1870 im Amt. Geboren wurde er am 16.11. 1810 in Nenderoth als Sohn des Landmanns Peter Ludwig und seiner Ehefrau Christine Elisabeth geb. Theis. Am 21.12. 1834 heiratete er die Tochter von Bernhard Deuster aus Nenderoth, Christine Margarethe. Er verstarb am 20.8. 1879 in Nenderoth. | 3359 | Johann Jakob Winchenbach (1737-1754) Johann Jakob Winchenbach wurde als Sohn des Bürgers Johannes Winchenbach in Herborn geboren und besuchte dort die Lateinschule. 1717 wurde er an der Hohen Schule immatrikuliert. Er war Hauslehrer bei dem Inspektor Scheurer zu Oberwetz und heiratete 1737 Christine Elisabeth Koch, die Tochter seines Vorgängers in Nenderoth, bei dem er seit 1736 adjunktiert war. 1754 ging er als erster Pfarrer nach Marienberg, wo er am 29. John was born on September 28, 1922 in Sayre, PA, son of the late Michael and Theresa Piancosca Elinski. After graduating from Sayre High School, John served in the U. S. Army from 1943-1946, when he was honorably discharged. He then went to work for Remington - Rand and after that worked 50 years for the railroad and retired in June of 1992. John was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in South Waverly, Ball- Skerpon Post #773, Waverly Moose Lodge #1490 and a Catholic War Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting, fishing and he loved his dog, Barkley. He is predeceased by; his parents, Michael and Theresa Elinski; his sister, Nellie Elinski; brother-in-law, Jim Regan; and good friends, Dave and Joe Shaw. John is survived by; his wife, Miriam Elinski; daughters and son-in-laws, Ric and Penny White of Athens, Dale and Susan Hadlock of Ulster, and Mark and Judy Hill of Sheshequin; his grandchildren, Dale and Jodi Farr of Northeast, John and Heather Hadlock of Milan, Ashley White of Athens, Cody White of Athens, and Carl Hill of Sheshequin; great-grandchildren, Madison and Maclin Farr, and Collin and Calab Hadlock; his brother, Walter Elinski of Schenectady; his sister, Anne Regan of Elmira; nieces, nephews and very special neighbors. He was born on September 30, 1986 in Rockport to John F. Emerson, Sr. and Darlene Benner Griesenbrock. JJ grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools. He graduated in the Class of 2005 from Medomak Valley High School. He loved hunting, fishing and trapping, pretty much everything to do with the outdoors. He was great at grilling and cooking. JJ enjoyed the car racing at Wiscasset Speedway. He was a class clown, always funny. He was a big supporter of his family and friends. JJ had a big heart and loved his wife and son very much. He called his grandmother every day. He was clear spoken, a straight shooter, but genuine and sincere. JJ also loved animals very much. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Francis Emerson. JJ is survived by his wife, Alisha Mills-Emerson, of Cushing, mother Darlene Griesenbrock and her husband, Jan, of Waldoboro; father John F. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. Over the years he worked as an oil delivery driver and machinist in Me. and Mass. For the past 25 years he was self-employed as a carpenter. John was a member of teh Waldoboro United Methodist Church where over the years he served as lay leader and Administrative Board Chair. His favorite part of church life was teh fellowship of being part of teh Church Choir. Other church related activities which were important and enjoyable to him included serving on the Board of Location and Building for the Central Maine District of the United Methodist Church and being active in Tres Dias. He was best known and loved for his awareness of other people's needs and the quiet way he went about helping in any way that he could. He is precedeased by sister, Elsie Winslow, borthers, Reginald Stahl and Arthur Stahl. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita Wotton Stahl of Waldoboro, daughters, Wanda Stahl of South Portland, Karen Stahl of Portland, son, JOhn L. Stahl of Portland, grandchildren, Caitlin and Marissa Stahl - Hodgkins of South Portland, sisters, Margaret Emus of Foxboro, MA, Bessie Reed of Santa Barbara, CA, and several nieces and nephews. His love of music came from his mother, who in their hometown of Magnolia, Arkansas would transmit radio stations playing classical music from New England. John's father was very bright and attended college until his duties on the family's farm called him home. His experience taught John the value of education and encouraged him to pursue his scholarly passions of science and the German language. John attended a small local college and then went on to the University of Arkansas where he was able to take German. After he completed his degree, he received a Fulbright Scholarship that allowed him to study for a year in Marburg, Germany. Upon his return to the States, John spent a year at Princeton and later research fellowships at Harvard University. He earned a PhD in physics from Brandeis University and his studies led him to a career as a physicist, conducting research projects for many start-up companies in the Boston area. During his time at Harvard, John met his future wife Mary Helen Johnson, who was a nursing student at Boston College. They enjoyed 51 wonderful years together, raising their five children in Lincoln, Massachusetts. John pursued the cello for many years. Later in life, John studied with a master painter to learn the Japanese art of Sumi-e and studied Buddhism as well. He also wrote a memoir about his life adventures in honor of his son Scot who passed away in 1996. John Terrell is survived by his daughter Lisa Mary Terrell-Poulos and husband Nick Poulos of Berlin, Massachusetts, son Shawn Christopher Terrell and wife Kaeti Elizabeth Miller and their two young children Otis Scot Terrell and Ruby Mae Terrell of Washington DC, daughter Tracy Helen Terrell and her two daughters Valerie and Julia Machado residing in Massachusetts, daughter Alison Hart and son Luis Scot Booth of Alameda, California, his brother William and sister in law Julie Terrell and their three grown children Jan, Eric and Lynn. | 3392 | John J. "Jack" Sexton, 93, of Shallotte, formerly of Kiawah Island, S.C., and Watchung, N.J., died Friday, March 17, 2017, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Jack was born Dec. 8, 1923, in East Orange, N.J., the son of the late Thomas C. Sexton and Margaret Drew Sexton. He was the husband of Phyllis Sexton (Seelbach). After graduating from West Orange High School in New Jersey in 1942, he joined the U.S. Merchant Marine and served five years in all theaters of operation, on Army transports, T-2 tankers, and Liberty and Victory ships. He graduated as a deck officer from OCS at Fort Trumbull, Conn. He was awarded the Combat Bar with Star, and was a Life Member of the USMM Veterans of World War II. While residing in the Watchung Mountains, Jack was employed by Merck, Exxon Research and Thomas & Betts. He retired in 1989 as sales specialist, NYC. He served as Master of Atlas Masonic Lodge in 1970, was a member of Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. Jack was a Sunday school teacher at Wilson Memorial Union Church and a Watchung Little League coach. He was an active member of the Republican Party. Phyllis and Jack retired and moved to Kiawah Island in 1989 and relocated to Rivers Edge in Shallotte in 2003. During retirement Jack enjoyed tennis, golf, gardening, traveling the world, time with his family and building bluebird houses and homes for purple martins. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis M Sexton; son, Alan T. Sexton of Reisterstown, Md.; daughter, Linda M. Sexton of Waynesville; brother, Thomas P. Sexton of LeMoyne, Pa.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Sexton is preceded in death by a son, John T. He was born April 6, 1954 in Dayton to Marie Flora and the late Willis W. Flora. He was a devoted member of the First English Lutheran Church, Richmond, IN where he served on the church council; he was director for the Preble County Habitat for Humanity, working with the Habitat for over 20 years; and was an electrical trade contractor for over 42 years in the Miami Valley area. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Alice J. Flora of Eaton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Janelle and Doug Ellis of Wyoming, MI; sister and brother-in-law Arlene and Tim Thompson of Reynoldsburg, OH; and a niece and nephew.
