| 4451 | MaryLynne Bergener, age 63, wife of Brad W Bergener passed away on Monday, December 1, 2017, at Toppenish Community Hospital. MaryLynne is survived by her children Justin and his wife Celise, Angela and her husband Jacob, Heidi and her husband Jake, and Blake. On March 22, 1954 in Goldendale, Washington she was born Mary-Lynne Prothero, to Harold Lynn and Maybelle Elizabeth Prothero. She has twin sisters that are 18 months older than her, Carole and Cheryl. Mom was extremely shy in her youth, not liking attention, but being the youngest received it more than she wanted. She was extremely fond of her father, trying to be the son he never had. She recounted numerous times of helping her dad with his projects, just waiting for hours to hand him a nail if he needed it. She would make sure to wake up early in the morning before her dad left to go to work to say goodbye to him each morning. At the age of 16, her dad passed away. Mom had the faith to raise the dead, but it was not the Lord's plan for him and he returned home. She told me how she would write messages to God in the snow asking why her dad had to be taken early. Then she was introduced to two elder missionaries the next year. Her sister Cheryl already was converted by the truths of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and what propelled my mom and grandma was the knowledge of having an eternal family and that they would be reunited with Harold again, they loved the idea of doing temple work and it brought them great comfort to know that they could do sacred covenants and sealings in the temple for their loved ones that had passed on. So they were baptized and sealed for all eternity to each other and Harold in The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom then decided to go to BYU-Idaho, known as Rick's then. She got her degree in Sociology and Family Development. She met Brad W Bergener at a Idaho church fireside. She had made such an everlasting impression on Brad that he proposed after 9 days of their first date. He impressed her of his knowledge of the scriptures and his spiritualness. It took them 3 months after that to prepare their eternal sealing, giving my mom enough time to sew her own wedding dress. They were sealed on March 3, 1978 in Idaho Falls Temple. They went through many journeys together since that time. Four children were born in their family. They created and grew a family business called Medstar Cabulance and built two homes in Zillah, Washington. MaryLynne's love in life and drive was God, family and farm life. A grave side service will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at Terrace Heights Memorial Park located at 3001 Terrace Heights Dr., Yakima, Washington 98901. | 4464 | Mathias "Matthias" Burkhardt, Jr., was born on August 6, 1838, at Unterhausen, Landsberg am Lech, in the Kingdom of Bavaria, within the German Confederation (1814-1871), whose independent principalities in 1871 became semi-autonomous states within the Second German Empire (1871-1918) created in 1871 at Versailles, France, when their crowned rulers acknowledged the Prussian King Wilhelm I to be the "Emperor of Germany". While still a child, Mathias (Matthias) Burkhardt, Jr., had moved with his parents and his sister Katherine Burkhardt to his father's hometown of Bremen, the second largest German port city whose government enjoyed political autonomy within the German Confederation. The fact that the Burkhardt surname -- in its several variations in spelling -- is widely recognized internationally is a fact discussed in the Memorial to Matthias Burkhardt, Sr. (1810-1892). | BURKHARDT, Mathias “Matthias” Jr. (I34001)

| 4472 | Maybelle (May) Florence Elizabeth Prothero Keith & Keith Funeral Home ZILLAH - Maybelle (May) Florence Elizabeth Prothero, 91, long time resident of Naches and Zillah died May 12th at her daughter's home in Zillah from complications following a recent fall. Maybelle was born on August 20, 1916 in Beverly Massachusetts, the daughter of Franklin Murdock Hoak and Flora Annabelle Hoak. Maybelle was the youngest of five children. Her mother passed away when she was very young and she learned to be positive and self-sufficient. Maybelle developed many wonderful abilities to look at the brighter side of life and wear a smile. She always wanted to lighten the burdens of those around her. She was an example to all who knew her and she radiated the love of our Heavenly Father. She had many jobs that reflected her love to serve others, working at a school for the deaf and a tuberculosis hospital as a young woman. Maybelle joined the Coast Guard in World War II. In 1945, while being stationed in Hawaii, Maybelle met her husband, Harold Prothero of Goldendale, WA. They were married in 1946 and began their family in Goldendale, WA, later moving to Naches to raise their three daughters. To most people she was known as May. May's husband, Harold, died suddenly on December 21, 1970. May had been a stay-at-home mom, being totally devoted to her husband and three daughters. She was involved in many organizations, Blue Birds, Campfire Girls, 4-H, PTA, and always volunteering anywhere she was needed. After the death of her husband she worked for Art Craft Furniture Store, Yakima Implement, and later she was the secretary of the Naches Middle School, where she retired in 1981. She wanted to continue working so she worked full time for the next 25 years for Medstar Cabulance Service. May grew up attending many different churches with her father, who taught her about the true happiness that comes from believing and serving God. May sought her Heavenly Father throughout her life and was blessed to have peace and joy through study and service in her church. May was an exemplar member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints. She had a sweet, deep testimony of the truthfulness that God has shown His love for His children by creating a plan to help us return to His presence. May's understanding that families can be together forever helped her and her loved ones pass this stage of life without fear, but with faith in our Savior. All who knew her will truly miss her. May was the most loving, Christ like mother, grandmother and Aunt that a family could ever be blessed with. Her example of kindness, happiness, generosity, selflessness, patience and enduring the trials of life will never be forgotten. Her posterity will sing praises to her name forever. May's faith and testimony of truth will live in their hearts forever and carry them through the trials of life. Her legacy to her family is one of love and to live their lives to serve others in order to find happiness, as she did. Her family has been blessed to learn from all that she was and is. May was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her brothers: Frank II, Roderick, and Paul Hoak, and her sister, Mary McLeod. May is survived by three daughters: Marylynne Bergener of Zillah, WA, Carole Huls of Naches, WA, and Cheryl McLane of Salt Lake City, UT, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Naches Ward of Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints. Burial at Terrace Heights Memorial Park will have preceded the memorial service. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is handling arrangements. | HOAK, Maybelle Florence Elizabeth (I45694)
