- Carl E. Brehm, 73, of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Riverside Terrace, Beloit, WI, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer.
He was born January 20, 1937 in Beloit, WI, the son of Carl and Hazel (Beck) Brehm. Carl was a 1955 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He married Eileen R. Rumage Hogan on September 22, 1972 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Carl began his 43 year career in the mail room at Beloit Corporation, retiring in 1999 as the Senior Purchasing Agent. Carl enjoyed traveling, going to the Lake Geneva Yacht Club, casinos, John Wayne movies and visiting with his grandchildren. He was an avid sailor, fisherman, golfer and skier. Carl was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Brehm, of Beloit, WI; two sons, Kurt (Kathy) Hogan, of Georgetown, MA, and Ken Hogan of Janesville, WI; three grandchildren, Michael Hogan, Kristin Hogan and Nicole Hogan; and one sister, Beverly (Duane) Peterson of Hayward, WI.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Richard Brehm.
Carl's family would like to thank Pastor Erik Jelinek, Dr. Vogel. Dr. Natalie Callendar, Tammy and Robin, Dr. Mahler, Betty, Debbie and staff, Dr. Cheryl Miller, Dr. From, Mary Marino and the Special Care Unit at Beloit Memorial Hospital, Ann Henning and our wonderful Beloit Regional Hospice, Riverside Terrace and staff. We are so lucky to be blessed with so many wonderful friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 749 Bluff Street, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Erik Jelinek officiating. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Joseph of Arimathea Columbarium. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Beloit Regional Hospice or Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
