Mrs. Irene M. Waltz 60, of Newcastle died Saturday at St. Andrews Hospital. She was the widow of Sewell Waltz. She was born at Topsham, July 17, 1907 daughter of Oremill and Gertrude Grover Robinson. She was educated in Richmond Schools and had worked in Richmond woolen mills. Mrs. Waltz was a member of Dyer's Valley Grange. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Priscilla Hatch of Jefferson, Mrs. Gertrude Pinkham of Boothbay Harbor, Mrs. Gloria Gagne of Bath, Mrs. Margaret Russell, and Mrs. Judith Campbell, both of Newcastle; 6 sons, Raymond of Nobleboro, Robert of Jefferson, Henry of Damariscotta, Aubrey of Damariscotta Mills, and Carroll and Frank, both of Newcastle; three sisters, Miss Cecilia Robinson and Mrs. Margaret Maynard, both of Richmond, and Mrs. thelma Perkins of Gardiner; a brother Maurice Robinson of Pittson, 33 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Strong Funeral Home, Damariscotta, with the Rev. Donald Harrington of the Damariscotta Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, Damariscotta Mills.
