Born in Dedham, Martha grew up in Dedham attending Dedham Schools graduating from Dedham High School in 1941. Martha later moved to Needham where she was very active in the Congregational Church. For many years Martha was a volunteer at the former Glover Memorial Hospital and continued her volunteer work at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She received recognition for her dedication, loyalty and thousands of hours that she gave to Hospital. She was a member of the Needham Garden Club and the Friendly Society in the Congregational Church. Martha also enjoyed Gardening, her oil paintings and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Leighton was the wife of the late James G. Leighton who died in 1999 and loving mother of James F. of Needham and Richard T. Leighton of Upton. Sister of Priscilla Bailey Tully of Swansboro, NC. Grandmother of Sally Windsor Leighton of Upton. A memorial Service will be held at the Congregational Church of Needham 1154 Great Pain Ave on Wed. Nov. 9th at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friend are kindly invited. She was born in Waldoboro, a daughter of James and Viola Benner. She was a homemaker all her life, and drove the US mail from Friendship to thomaston for eight years. During World War II. she worked at the Black and Gay Canning Factory in Thomaston. She later worked for nine years at the Port Clyde Packing co. and for 12 years at the North Lubec Sardine Factory, until she retired. mrs. Delano is survived by her husband of 68 years, W. Thomas Belano of Friendship, a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Wotton of Friendship; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Reginald Delano, who died in 1954 and Gerald who died in 1988. A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro with the Rev. Richard park and Norman Young officiating. Burial in Sweetland Cemetery, Waldoboro. Lincoln Couny News: August 10th, 1989.

Born in McKenzie, Tennessee, November 18, 1923, she was one of eight children of Walter and Julie Smith Bolton. While living in Tennessee, she met and married William Wilkes. They later moved to Virginia, residing there until moving here in the late 1940s. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing. She married Leroy B. Pease in July of 1977. Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer\'s Disease, Mr. Pease has been her primary care giver. Pre-deceased by one son William \"Buddy\" Wilkes, Jr. in 1990, Mrs. Pease is survived by her husband of Rockland; one daughter Peggy Salminen and her husband Charles of Rockland; four grandchildren, James LaCrosse and his wife Jenny of Jefferson, Richard Wilkes of Ocala, FL, Michelle Wajer of Newcastle, Kelly Salminen of Rockland; four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Billie\'s family would like to thank everyone on the Alzheimers Unit of Knox Center for their excellent care and thoughtfulness. A graveside service will be announced in the spring. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Evangeline Sylvester of Rockland, Mrs. Virginia Poletti of Quincy, Mass. and Mrs. Eleanor Paguin of Augusta; six sons, Basil, Ensign, Xavier and Manuel, all of Rockland, Gabriel of Waldoboro and Benedict of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Winchenbach and Mrs. Theresa Shute, both of Waldoboro and Evren Burns Burns of Friendship; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Russell Funeral Home, the Rev. Merle S. Canant officiating. Interment was in Str. Paul\'s Society Cemetery, Dutch Neck, Waldoboro.
