Er wurde am 8. Februar 1929 in West Washington als Sohn von Lillian (Warner) und Harry Farrington Sr. geboren. Er besuchte die örtlichen Schulen und diente im Army Air Corps, bevor er in die Gegend zurückkehrte, um als Lastwagenfahrer zu arbeiten.
Schließlich arbeitete er bei Hillcrest Foods, zunächst als Fahrer, dann als Trucking Supervisor und schließlich als Werksleiter.
Nach der Schließung von Hillcrest arbeitete er für Harleys-R-Us, leitete eine Pferdefarm und fuhr einen Muldenkipper für K&K Construction, bis er 2011 in den Ruhestand ging. Am 9. März 1980 heiratete er Geraldine (Michaud). Nach seiner Pensionierung arbeitete Norman gerne im Haushalt, spielte Karten und Bingo und verbrachte Zeit mit seinen Lieben. Er war ein hingebungsvoller Ehemann und Vater, der Autofahrten, die Natur und die Boston Red Sox liebte.
Zu den Überlebenden gehören seine liebevolle Frau aus Greene; drei Söhne, Norman Jr. und Ehefrau Jerri-Ann aus Greene, Kenneth und langjähriger Lebensgefährte Rick Hughes aus Augusta und Ronnie und Ehefrau Faylene aus Leeds; zwei Stiefsöhne, Robert Akers und seine Frau Melissa aus Lewiston und Jay Akers und seine Verlobte Kimberly Staples aus Lewiston; vier Töchter, Darlene Cloutier und Ehemann Ronnie aus Farmingdale, Patricia Robbins und langjähriger Lebensgefährte Gerry Watson aus Boothbay, Tracy Farrington und langjähriger Lebensgefährte Orville "Olive" Dawkins und Melissa Farrington und langjähriger Lebensgefährte Jaime McLeod aus Lewiston; eine Schwester, L. Laura Dulac aus Augusta; 18 Enkelkinder; 15 Urenkel; und ein Ururenkelkind.
Neben seinen Eltern waren zwei Brüder, Bud und Carl Farrington, vorverstorben; und vier Schwestern, Virginia Labbé, Mary Knowles, Frances Knowles und Marguerite Barry.

GREENE - Norman S. Farrington Sr., 83, of 57 Main St., died Monday, July 9, 2012, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in West Washington on Feb. 8, 1929, he was the son of Lillian (Warner) and Harry Farrington Sr. Educated in local schools, he served in the Army Air Corps before returning to the local area to work as a truck driver.
He eventually went to work at Hillcrest Foods, first as a driver, then as trucking supervisor, and finally as plant supervisor. Following Hillcrest's closing, he went to work for Harleys-R-Us, managed a horse farm, and drove a dump truck for K&K Construction, retiring in 2011.
On March 9, 1980, he married Geraldine (Michaud).
After his retirement, Norman liked to keep busy working around the house, playing cards and Bingo, and spending time with loved ones. He was a dedicated husband and father who loved car trips, the outdoors, and the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include his loving wife, of Greene; three sons, Norman Jr., and wife Jerri-Ann, of Greene, Kenneth and longtime companion Rick Hughes, of Augusta, and Ronnie and wife Faylene, of Leeds; two stepsons, Robert Akers, and wife Melissa, of Lewiston, and Jay Akers and fiancée Kimberly Staples, of Lewiston; four daughters, Darlene Cloutier and husband Ronnie, of Farmingdale, Patricia Robbins and longtime companion Gerry Watson, of Boothbay, Tracy Farrington and longtime companion Orville "Olive" Dawkins, and Melissa Farrington and longtime companion Jaime McLeod, of Lewiston; a sister, L. Laura Dulac, of Augusta; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Bud and Carl Farrington; and four sisters, Virginia Labbe, Mary Knowles, Frances Knowles and Marguerite Barry.
